For @TIME Magazine, I wrote about how I traced my roots back to Midway Plantation and attended a ceremony where the burial ground of my enslaved African ancestors became a historical landmark!!!! This is a story about legacy and how you can NEVER erase us.

Lilo and Nani aren’t supposed to be light-skinned. This is what they’re supposed to look like. Colorism is really outrageous bruh. 😭

He needs therapy to heal from whichever Black girl turned him down in middle school. Because it's clear that he has something against all of us now lmao.

Anyone who refuses to understand and acknowledge colorism can’t converse with me, and since you clearly don’t have the range for this conversation, I will not be engaging in a discussion with you regarding this.

LOOK AT THAT CASTING!!! πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸΎ It's so refreshing to see Black girls who are monoracial and dark-skinned as the lead actresses. I love this so much omg. 🀎 Congrats, Marsai!!! Can't wait to watch this!!

Xavier flying the plane at the end was so significant because it was something he was never able to do because of his poor eyesight. 😭πŸ₯ΉπŸ€§ His dad and grandpa would be so proud of him for carrying on the family legacy!! πŸ‘¨πŸΏβ€βœˆοΈβœˆοΈ #ParadiseHulu

It's not lost on me that all of these poll workers who are working overtime and struggling to stay awake in order to save a "democracy" that has never served them are Black women. This country β€” this world β€” would burn to ashes without Black women. You all owe us everything.

The actresses in the live action film do not have brown skin like the characters in the original movie. I know that there are native Hawaiians who are darker; they should’ve cast them.
