- Do you ever think about how the "girls mature faster" argument is used to 1) excuse bad behavior from boys, 2) hold girls to a higher standard, and 3) excuse grown men's sexual interest in young girls, but never to give girls respect or positions of responsibility and influence?

- A "sex panic", here, means 13-year-old girls asking for their classmates to finally please stop making porn of them.Sex panic is always a Trojan Horse for really bad, regressive and conservative politics. Leads to more carcerality, surveillance and theocracy; always hurts people of color and LGBTQ people first and hardest. Really sad to see @aoc going down this path
- the cultural panic around "birth-givers" is hilarious to me because in Slovak, the word for parent is literally birth-giver, and the word for a pregnant/delivering patient has always been birth-giver, and there's even a word for primigravidas that's just "first time birth-giver"
