    K9 Ares was born in Europe on January 19, 2009. He has served the South San Francisco Police Department for 7 1/2 years alongside his handler Officer Rebecca Dabney. Although he is 9 years-old, he has not slowed down and still loves his job. Please wish him a Happy Birthday!

    Tonight, this little guy was found wondering in the parking lot of SSF High School. He is currently at our PD awaiting pickup by the Peninsula Humane Society. Please contact the Peninsula Humane Society if you own or know the owner so he can be reunited with his family.

    POLICE ACTIVITY: Multiple law enforcement agencies are actively at South San Francisco High School on a report of an “active shooter”. At this time, there is no evidence to suggest an “active shooter” has occurred. The school is currently still on lockdown as a precaution.

    UPDATE: There is no merit to an “active shooter” at South San Francisco High School. Officers are now clearing the scene and the school has now lifted the lockdown.

    In honor of the victims of the Robb Elementary School shooting, our flags will be flown at half-staff. This will remain in effect through 5-28-22 as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence by a gunman at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

    We remembers local hero who gave his life while serving in the line of duty. 22 years ago today, Millbrae Police Officer Dave Chetcuti, paid the ultimate price while serving his community. We thank him for his service & may he forever Rest in Peace. (E.O.W. - April 25, 1998)

    Our Swing Shift patrol team took a theft report where a child had his bicycle stolen from in front of his home on Dec. 8th...a search for the bicycle was unsuccessful so the Swing Shift team all chipped in their own funds and purchased a new bicycle for the child.
