Asst. Chief Shab and I worked the midnight shift Xmas Eve in our busiest Patrol District so that two young officers could take the night off. We located a suspect who had brandished a pistol at a motorist. Gun recovered, suspect in jail, and Xmas is safe once again!

Patrol officers responded to a "routine" call of a solo vehicle collision. The driver had a pistol concealed in his waistband, and all of this in his car. I don't know what the driver planned. But I do know that this call for service, like so many others, was far from routine!

    We are just getting started...
Yesterday, SJPD made it clear that we will expend every effort to arrest those involved in Saturday's sideshow. In less than 48 hours, SJPD has already identified and arrested 24 year old Aidan Rheault as the person responsible for striking a spectator with his vehicle while

What did San Jose Police Officers do last night? Responded to the shooting of a 15 year old, identified and arrested the suspect. Issued 205 citations to sideshow participants. Responded to a homicide. Monitored a protest in which pig heads were left at the police station.

Officers made a "routine" car stop and found a gun and suspected fentanyl in the car. Not content to stop there, the officers got a search warrant for the convicted felon driver's home. Guess what? They found another gun and more drugs! Great job keeping our community safe!

Five different "routine" car stops by Patrol officers last night, in different areas of the city, resulted in the recovery of illegally possessed firearms. Some were ghost guns, some were possessed alongside narcotics. Some arrestees were prior felons, some were on probation.

San Jose Police Officers seized 9 loaded firearms from criminals this weekend, including a fully automatic AK47. Great work keeping our community safe from gun violence!

Ever wonder why San Jose has not experienced the 30% increase in homicides that the rest of the country has? Tonight, VCET officers recovered four guns on two car stops. They arrested four people, three of them previously convicted felons. Thanks for keeping us safe!

This young fella must not read the newspaper. He was apparently unaware that San Jose now has Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras. He also wasn't aware that SJPD has the best Air Support Unit, and that they are expert at finding stolen cars. Off to juvenile hall now.

This morning, a young officer who was only 3 weeks out of the Field Training program made a "routine" traffic stop. The driver, a convicted felon, had this loaded, concealed revolver and drugs in the car. The SJPD tradition of proactive police work is apparently in good hands!

Today was the 6th anniversary of the line of duty death of Officer Mike Katherman. A great cop, father, husband, son, brother, and friend. Mike, you will always be in our hearts!

Detectives served a search warrant on the home of a recent homicide suspect, who also had a warrant for his arrest on other weapons charges. They recovered 29 assault weapons, 2 stolen pistols, other illegal weapons and parts. Great follow up by our Detectives!

Officers in Air3, monitoring the ALPR system, got alerted to 3 stolen cars. They directed ground units to the cars. All 3 drivers in custody! No dangerous vehicle pursuits occurred, nor were they needed. 2 drivers tried to run away. But, you can't outrun a helicopter!

An officer in the Field Training program and his FTO did follow up on a case of brandishing. They arrested the suspect, served a search warrant, and recovered all this!!! They seized a submachine gun, ghost guns, and other firearms and ammo. Our community is safer today!!!
