NEW: Solar & storage delivered *91%* of all new capacity added to the U.S. grid in Q1. With over 6 million installations, solar and storage are central to meeting America's growing energy demand. More from SEIA and @WoodMackenzie: seia.org/news/solar-and…

If we wrapped the entire planet in solar, we would produce more power in one HOUR than the world consumes in a YEAR. It's not either/or... its both/and.
Even if you wrapped the entire planet in a solar panel, you would only be producing 20% of global energy. One of the biggest mistakes politicians can make is equating the ELECTRICITY with ENERGY!
    Readers added context
Earth gets ~1.5M TWh/day of solar energy, which is 3,000× global energy use of ~165K TWh/year. Covering just 1% of land with panels could theoretically power the planet. Electricity *is* energy. Electrification replaces fossil fuel use in transport, heat, & industry. iea.org/reports/global… axionpower.com/knowledge/powe… ourworldindata.org/energy-mix esbnetworks.ie/docs/default-s… nrel.gov/gis/solar-reso…

This is blatantly false. It's NONSENSE, not COMMON SENSE. Solar and batteries are more affordable and reliable than any generation source. Plus, they deploy 4x faster than coal😉 Stop lying about AMERICAN SOLAR and let us help win the AI race.
Wind and solar require backup from peaker gas plants or batteries, which cost more than THREE TIMES as much as baseload power. Adding more variable resources to the grid can actually INCREASE price spikes and power shortages. A COMMON SENSE approach to America’s energy sector is

The statement is false: Wind and solar backups like batteries are increasingly cost-competitive (costs down 65% since 2010), not 3x baseload, and displace expensive peakers. energyinnovation.org/wp-content/upl…

Just a reminder that the #solar industry employs more Americans than coal, oil and gas energy generation combined. #SolarIsNow

Oil and gas pipelines use 50x more land than solar. Golf courses use almost 4x as much👀

Trump: We have more oil gas, and coal than any other country by far. For whatever reason, god was very good to us. We started to use wind. Wind doesn't work. We started to use solar panels that took over the land where the farmer said "What happened to my land?"

The real scam is blaming solar for fossil fuel price spikes. Farmers, families, and businesses choose solar to save money, preserve land, and escape high costs of the old, dirty fuels being forced on them by this administration.

California is a national clean energy leader, but its #solar and wind development has recently stalled. The #CALeg must pass #AB893 to ensure near-term renewable procurement in the state! #ActOnClimate bit.ly/2wfnZBw

Three years ago, Texans paid over $500 million when a heatwave spiked electricity prices. This year, under almost the same conditions, they paid 1/10th the price... thanks to solar and storage. Read more: dallasnews.com/opinion/commen…

Support solar in New York. Tell lawmakers and Governor Cuomo you want at least 70 percent of your electricity to come from clean sources. Time is running out for Albany to act. #SolarStrongNY
