Dorothy Bain, QC, and Ruth Charteris, QC, today took the oaths of office as Lord Advocate and Solicitor General for Scotland respectively at ceremonies held in Parliament House, Edinburgh before a bench of three judges chaired by the Lord President, Lord Carloway.

- Sheriff Courts Update: We will convene Sheriff courts in the morning to deal with custodies and remand cases and any urgent civil business. Other cases will be continued or adjourned. No public should attend tomorrow. Only legal professionals. Social distancing will be observed.
- #Glasgow High Court trials begin on Tuesday 13 October in the new cinema-based Remote Jury Centre at Braehead, Renfrewshire. The 11 jury rooms can accommodate 15 physically distanced jurors, who will connect with the courtroom through state-of-the-art, secure technology.
