00:00 - #Mangroves are resilient! SCCF staff were surprised to find these propagules virtually unscathed while conducting hurricane cleanup at one of our plant nurseries. They will eventually be planted once restoration efforts resume.
- The last sea turtle nest on Sanibel and Captiva was inventoried on Oct. 13! This highly active nesting season included a record 1,177 loggerhead nests and 24 green sea turtle nests on the islands, as well as 27,368 emerged hatchlings. 💚

- SCCF’s highest priorities following Hurricane Ian have been providing boots on the ground daily on Sanibel to assist with disaster recovery and helping our staff, 1/3 of whom do not have a home to return to.
