- Today we issued two mandates. We strongly believe that the best path forward as a school district is to require face masks for students and staff, and to require staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Our focus is the health and safety of our staff, students, and community.

- San Antonio ISD is deeply saddened to learn of the death of our Detective Cliff Martinez early this morning, while working off-duty at an I-HOP. He was a highly-respected member of the SAISD Police Department, who worked for the department for 28 years. He will be greatly missed.
- SAISD will make a formal announcement about the remaining school year calendar tomorrow.
- Weather update: A decision has been made regarding school operations. Due to expected icy weather conditions tomorrow, all SAISD schools and offices will be closed tomorrow --Tuesday, January 16.

- Touching thank you: A family picking up meals showed their appreciation to our child nutrition and transportation employees today. The sign thanked them for ensuring that there was food on their table every day. There was not a dry eye on the bus.
