The Club organised the first British Grand Prix at Silverstone 75 years ago this year. As part of our celebrations, this month there will be an array of Grand Prix cars in the rotunda. First off the grid is the 1963 Brabham BT7 – the bedrock of Brabham’s 1960s and 1970s success.

The Club is very sad to hear of the passing of Lady Susie Moss. Married to Sir Stirling Moss for almost 40 years, she was his inseparable companion on every day of his hectic and globetrotting life. The Club extends its deepest sympathies to their family.

The 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR was described by Sir Stirling Moss as ‘probably the greatest sports car ever built by anybody any time.’ The legendary British driver won the 1955 Mille Miglia – on public roads – at an average speed of 98mph, a record that remains unbeaten today.

On behalf of the Royal Automobile Club we would like to offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family on the passing of Her Majesty, our Patron. She was an inspiration to us all, a monarch who defined the notion of service and served the nation and its people to the utmost.

A happy birthday to Derek Bell MBE from the Royal Automobile Club! Our Vice-President looks as good as he did 40 years ago when he won Le Mans – just one of his five victories there. We'll be celebrating Derek’s milestones and many achievements at the Club next year!
