- I've just read the revised Political Declaration. Let's be clear: this deal is significantly worse, on every front, than the one negotiated by May.
- Withdrawal Agreement + Political Declaration (non-binding) = 91 pages. Commons will sit on Saturday for less than five hours. When I was in local govt, decisions on grass cutting would have more detail attached and more scrutiny than this. Ludicrous.
- Clearly it suits some narratives to say ‘ Labour is only winning in London’ Labour has so far gained these councils outside London: Blaenau Gwent Crawley Cumberland Kirklees Rossendale Southampton West Dunbartonshire Worthing
- Over 800 of my constituents work @walkers_crisps Leicester factory. They’re made using only British-grown potatoes. Here’s UKIP’s Leader encouraging people to stop buying them:

- For your diary, Richard: 📆*Election* of Commission President by MEPs scheduled for 12 noon, 16th July. Wouldn’t want you guys to miss it....Not a single one of them voted on by MEPs, all stitched up behind closed doors. We MEPs are token fig leaf democracy. After 3 days in Strasbourg, I know more than ever we made correct decision 2 leave. Pressure from Brexit Party will ensure we leave sooner rather than later.
- Perhaps a Minister could pop over to Paris to learn more about this - assuming they can find a train to London that’s running, don’t mind queuing at passport control for a few hours and are ok with roaming charges for a couple of days.

- Party chair overseeing worst result since 1930s. Majority in own seat tumbles to 814 from 10k+, vote share down -15%. Might run for leader. This period of reflection is proving to be quite something.
- This observation from Neil Kinnock on what happened in the 1980s, is very important to note in understanding how and why Thursday’s electoral disaster happened.
- Replying to @IanDuntFrom experience having led delivery of 20mph zones in Leicester, they happen because local communities want them, often demanded through local petitions and campaigning. Cllrs often pledge them in their election campaigns.
