When people are in deep pain they don't need explanations, advice, encouragement, or even Scripture. They just need you to show up and shut up. Just be WITH them. It’s the healing ministry of presence. #RealComfort

- Sometimes God removes a person from your life for your own protection. Do not run after them. Trust God. He knows what He's doing.
- After almost 43 yrs of pastoring Saddleback Church, Kay & I are announcing that God is calling us to step aside for the next generation! We feel deep love & humble gratitude for our church family. What a faith adventure its been! Now we're called to 2 new ministries. More later
- Prayer is not getting my way in heaven, but getting God’s will on earth. "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven"(Matt 6:10)
- Integrity is a habit, not a feeling. You speak the truth, keep your promises, and do what's right even when it's unpopular or you don't feel like it.
- We may have different views but I love Ellen DeGeneres. Her hilarious comedy is always clean & never hurts people. She's a great humanitarian.Most of all she's a KIND soul in an unkind,uncivil culture. Bless you Ellen! I used your example in a sermon on kindness today.
