I’m going to continue to show up to protect us, to protect the people of the 10th Congressional District, of New Jersey, and of this country. Because we need protection, and we have to continue to hold this administration accountable.
Our immigration courts are taking so long that people are being held hostage while they wait to see a judge or get an appeal. As people—even those with lawyers—wait in ICE detention centers, they are suffering and sometimes losing their lives.
This administration wants to weaponize the DOJ against anyone they don’t like. If they can target me, they’ll soon come after all of us—regardless of political party.
I told @MotherJones what’s at stake and how I’m fighting back.
Pete Hegseth is so anti-DEI that he is anti-woman. He is denying women veterans and service members recognition, but the @demwomenscaucus is honoring the work seen and unseen that women who serve do. I was proud to stand with them today.
To the 214 Republicans who voted to give ICE $70 billion more today—is this what you meant when you said “the worst of the worst?”
YOU are a threat to this country and its children.

What I’ve seen at Delaney Hall should outrage every American.
But this isn’t just an issue with Delaney Hall, it’s about how ICE is rotten to the core.
Today, I joined @RepTimKennedy to cosponsor the Immigration Release Transparency Act and demand accountability.
Republicans are pushing to give $70 billion to empower ICE’s abuses and Trump’s cruel agenda.
I’m voting no and demanding amendments to protect oversight, end for-profit detention, end forced labor in ICE detention, close Delaney Hall, and much more.
I stood with @RepTimKennedy to introduce the Immigration Transparency Act.
The same principle that drives our oversight work at Delaney Hall is what drives this bill: people in government custody do not stop being people and no agency gets to operate behind a wall of secrecy.
This week on the House Floor, I gave a shout out to Davison Igbinosun, a NJ native and new NFL draft pick for the Buffalo Bills.
Davison is a graduate of Union High School and was NJ’s top recruit in the 2022 high school class. I’m excited to see Davison make NJ-10 proud! 🏈
I've seen the horror of ICE detention. We saw agents kill Americans in the street. And instead of demanding oversight, Republicans want to give ICE $70B on top of the $170B they've already given to ICE, all to please Trump.
Their loyalty to Trump is a betrayal of human rights.
The U.S. Senate has passed a bill that would allocate an additional $70 billion for DHS and ICE.
These agencies already have a combined $100 billion in unspent funds that were part of a larger DHS spending bill.
The legislation now heads to the House.
This Immigrant Heritage Month, and every month, I’m making it clear: immigrants belong here.
NJ-10 recognizes the generations of immigrants who built our country. Their cultures and contributions continue to make our community and our nation better.
This week in the 10th (and in Washington!) Team LaMonica was…
