Bielsa - named after Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa - wins the Racing UK's Biggest Ever Flat Season Novice Stakes for Kevin Ryan & Kevin Stott. The Leeds boss is known for sitting on a big blue bucket during matches so owner Martin Wainwright had some blue buckets ready!

A lovely comment from top Japanese jockey Yuga Kawada after his first win in the UK on Star Shield for Roger Varian in the Racing UK Extra On racinguk.com Novice Stakes. "I will never forget this place, Redcar," he said. "I am so happy."

What a great story in our second race as Phillip Makin lands his first winner as a trainer at the track where an horrific fall last summer ended his career as a jockey. Let's hope Galloway Hills is the first of many for Phil.

‼️‼️What a disappointing start to our morning to find this‼️‼️ Vandalism over night has left the course fencing looking worse for wear. Unnecessary destruction at such a difficult time, which is going to be costly to fix. If you saw anything please get in touch.

We don’t have a dress code at Redcar. We always suggest racegoers dress for the great British weather. If you want to wear shorts tomorrow, go for it. If you want to dress like a jockey, you might get a selfie with your idol.

What a heart-warming story to end the day as 16-year-old Jack Nicholls wins on his first ever ride - and for his dad @Adriannicholl18 too! Jack steered Hurt You Never to a five length victory, with his dad quipping: "He won too far!"

Thank you to Sue Hide for letting us know that her husband Edward rode 193 winners at Redcar in his illustrious career. Eddie, who has died at 86, will have a race named in his honour at our next meeting on September 19.

Special moment as we say thanks & farewell to @acmulrennan who's stepping down after 7 years as racecourse presenter. After the 'Thank You Adele Nursery Handicap', chairman John Sanderson presented Adele with a memento to say best wishes from us all and good luck with @ITVRacing

It’s so disappointing that the course has been vandalised overnight. Our team are working flat out to get us ready for the start of the season in just over a weeks time (7th April) and the last thing they need is the extra work of repairing mindless damage.

The best horse to ever run at Redcar in the course's 150-year history? How about dual champion hurdler, Sea Pigeon, trained at Malton by Peter Easterby. He won the Vaux Gold Tankard at Redcar in 1977, 1978 and 1980. What do you reckon? #redcarraces150

Redcar pays tribute to @acmulrennan as she steps down as raceday presenter after seven years. One of tomorrow's races has been named the 'Thank You Adele Nursery' and Adele - now a big part of the @itvracing team - will present the trophy. redcarracing.co.uk/news/redcar-pa…

Every winning horse at Redcar this season gets Polos as a special treat. Here's Havana Prince being presented with his pack of four by racecourse announcer Amy Ryan. We think it's a mint idea!

An impeccably observed minute's silence at Redcar in honour of the legendary Lester Piggott. Never forgotten.
