- Today, on the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, we want to recognize the heroism of Betty Ann Ong. As a flight attendant on American Airlines Flight 11, the first airplane hijacked, Ong was able to contact authorities and relay crucial information for 23 minutes.
