When people asked me what it was like to be a female Navy pilot, I would always say that the helicopter doesn’t know if it’s a man or a woman flying it. We just have to get the job done. Our military is strongest when we recruit and retain the best from every corner of America.

Nobody recruited me into this race - I felt called to step up after the last election. I was taught in the Navy to run directly toward the problem, and I'm running for Congress because we need new leaders who are going to fight for families in NJ-07.

As a former military pilot, I’ve flown in some of the world’s most complex airspaces. But at Newark Airport, radar and radio went dark for 90 seconds. No drills. No warning. Planes kept flying, and we were lucky to avoid a catastrophe. That’s unacceptable and dangerous.
