Really great shows are being released with little to no promo, getting lots of love from critics and the fans that somehow find them, and then they're quickly canceled to no fault of the show. We're burning thru potential classics that could have long runs. The models are broken.

In less than 2 minutes Marlon Wayans breaks down everything that's wrong with Hollywood right now, TV in particular. Whether you're a fan, writer, actor, etc. this is a MUST WATCH clip. I wish the studios would listen too. Stop chasing Netflix. Play and win a different game.

Melissa McCarthy NAILS it. This is exactly what's wrong with the industry right now.

We used to think it was crazy that a show like "Freaks and Geeks" only had one season. Now we are watching a new "Freaks and Geeks" quality show get canceled every month.

Studios will accept a random, original idea from AI, but when a human wants to write something original they have to prove it's the most personal story of their life for the studio to believe they should be the one to tell it. A good idea that we're passionate about isn't enough.

Remember when shows lasted long enough for staff to move up the ladder? Remember when shows would go on hiatus and u could actually enjoy ur break because u knew it'd be coming back for another season? Remember the dream of being on a show that went 100 episodes and cashing out?

Some of these laws are HUGE and we should make sure we spread the word and make a big deal about them. A lot of very good things in here, such as a law that limits the amount landlords can charge for a security deposit to just one month (instead of the usual 2). Good job, Cali!
New California laws taking effect in 2024 will increase wages, provide more sick days, and make it less expensive to rent an apartment abc7.la/3GBbsgj

I've watched a lot of sitcoms so I'm either going to become a TV writer or the Scarlet Witch. It's up to you Hollywood.

On the first night. With no advertising. And if you don't finish the series the day you start it they swear it's a bad sign as if you can't just have a life smh.

The loophole that allows companies to get money back for removing shows from their platform HAS TO BE FIXED. I literally subscribed and gave my monies to Paramount+ to watch The Game. How in the world can they receive money for removing something I already paid for?!
#TheGame (along with ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’, ‘Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies’ & ‘Queen of the Universe’) will be removed from Paramount+ with the studios planning to shop some of them to rival broadcasters and streamers bit.ly/CancellationsL…

This is why sitcoms will always work. This is why shows that show "regular people" remain in the top 10 of every streamer even when they're 30 yrs old. Ppl NEED to see themselves reflected in TV and they want characters they can relate to. Less reboots. More new shows like this.
