Forty years of watching Jimmy McGovern’s work. Cracker. Hillsborough. Time. This week I got to meet him in Liverpool at @CCConventionUK. Not remotely embarrassed about how pleased I am. Total fan-boy. Am well chuffed! #CreativeCitiesConvention #BAFTAElevate #Liverpool @BAFTA

My Mum is at home worried this old English racist will try to put pillow over Dad’s head in middle of night. This is England today. Worn-out, sick, angry Englishmen loudly complaining about immigrants, while their very lives depend on being served by those same immigrants. 5/5

In 2011 I was living in a flat in West London above a couple with 3 kids. They often had loud rows at night. I would listen, trying to decide if I should do anything. One night I was woken up by partic. loud screams at abt 2am. I got up, put a t-shirt on, & went downstairs. 1/9

People who work in NHS are remarkable, most especially those hard-working immigrants doing hardest-slog jobs for smallest salaries. I could tell they were very used to having to deal with racist bile from deluded & foolish people. Mum called them ‘Saints’. x.com/baulked1/statu…

Just spoke w Dad. He’s having tests done & is still on an IV drip, but is getting good care & lots of sleep. He sounded better. “They’ve been very attentive since you visited yesterday,” he said. “I’m getting even better care now they’ve seen which type of people my family are.”

Thank you all for your kind comments & concern. I will pass on to Dad. He will probably just laugh & say: “This guy? Forget about it. I’ve seen off plenty of his sort before.” Head Nurse was admirably direct & forthright in dealing with matter yesterday, & nurses are on point.

So my Dad - flag-waving British patriot, Labour Councillor for 20 years, & former Mayor of town he lives in - is now lying in an NHS Ward with some worn-out old English bloke mumbling racist claptrap at him as they are both being fed & kept alive by hard-working immigrants. 4/5

It is with our deepest sorrow that the Thind Family, announce the demise of our beloved husband, father, brother & friend, Gurbachan Singh Thind who passed away on Tuesday, Sept 24 2019. Though we grieve our loss, there is joy, too, in having known & loved such a special person.

What’s the editorial rationale for @BBCWorldatOne having Farage on? He’s never been elected, holds no public office, it’s been years since he ran UKIP, he simply recycles proven lies & peddles in racist myth. So why’s he on BBC’s flagship lunchtime news show? Can anyone explain?

“You’re in England. Speak ENGLISH,” he spits out. I don’t reply. He’s sick man in hospital bed. It’s not my place. Instead, I go & talk to Head Nurse (English) & tell her. She goes into ward & talks to man behind his drawn curtains. Tells him racist comments unacceptable. 2/5
