- The United States Coast Guard has accepted ownership of the "commercially available polar #icebreaker", adding the first polar icebreaker to its fleet in 25 years. Previously known as Aiviq, it will be renamed USCGC Storis (WAGB 21) upon commissioning.
- Replying to @akihheikkinen @krakek1 and @johnkonradIf the US government was looking to acquire a nuclear-powered icebreaker, they would most likely propose one of their naval reactors or their derivatives. In such case, we could design the ship around a "black box" like was done with Taymyr and Vaygach.
- Replying to @krakek1 @akihheikkinen and @johnkonradI don't know about you, but to me a photograph of a nuclear-powered icebreaker under construction at a Finnish shipyard feels quite relevant in the context of Finland's ability to build large icebreakers.

At 169k DWT and a draught of 17.8 metres, it may be one of the biggest vessels ever to attempt a transit. Ice class? Нет!
