    Small-ish update - excited to move from long-term freelance to a full-time staff writer for @SBJ. Not much changes coverage-wise, with LOTS of Paris stories coming. But a big deal for me personally, and it gives me a chance to branch to other sports later. So very happy today.

    Would it be a Chloe Kim moment at the Olympics if she wasn't hungry? Almost done with the press conference, and she says, "Also if anyone has some snacks in their pockets, I'm hungry." Chocolate, pastries and treats instantly materialized.

    Sad to say that after 10 years at @USATODAY, I’m among Gannett’s layoffs today. I’m really proud of the sports, Olympics and investigative work I’ve done in that decade. It’s hard to put into words how much I have grown as a reporter from all my experiences here.
