    The Princess Royal officially opened our new Diagnostic Centre at Royal Brompton Hospital. The £50m centre has the latest imaging technology to help diagnose cases of heart and lung disease. Her Royal Highness was given a tour and met staff who work there. rbht.nhs.uk/news/princess-…

    #OnThisDay in 1983 Prof Sir Magdi Yacoub performed the UK’s first heart & lung #transplant. At Harefield Hospital transplant unit we see lives transformed by #OrganDonation. We are proud to carry on his legacy through pioneering work in heart & lung transplantation 🫀🫁 #NHS

    Happy fur-sday from Daisy the spaniel who visited her owner, Richard, in ICU during his recovery from cardiac surgery 🐾 Daisy is the first pet to visit ICU at Royal Brompton since the start of Covid and staff said she 'worked miracles' in lifting moods for everyone on the ward.

    "I am Raj & I am alive” Raj is a #COVID19 patient who was treated at Royal Brompton Hospital. He was on ECMO for 62 days – longer than any other patient during the first wave. He's thanked staff for giving him a second chance at life. Read his story: bit.ly/3q7HlTD

    We were thrilled to see one of our longest Covid-19 patients discharged recently. Tansferred from @LNWH_NHS, Sam went home to his family in time for his son's birthday. Some of our intensive care and respiratory colleagues who treated Sam stopped by to say goodbye & share a laugh
