Buy a litre of petrol today at £1.32p and the current forecourt cost is 51.50p but the fuel duty and VAT you pay is 79.85p. That means the total tax percentage levied on every litre you buy is 155%!! And now they want to raise it! Do the maths and you’ll seeth with anger.

I spent 18 months and had numerous face to face meetings warning MPs and ministers that the U.K. urgently needed to build battery factories otherwise Rules of Origin would make our motor industry uncompetitive. But Govt was too busy with their vainglorious popularity contest.

Took Tesla Model 3 ⁦to @CaffandMac⁩ to see reactions. Got 320 miles to one charge. This is £50k Performance version that does 0-60 in 3.2 secs and 163 mph. World’s best electric car by a big margin. Loved it. ⁦@Tesla#tesla@elonmusk

So, just 9 years to build range of affordable EVs that do 450 miles on one charge and cost around £15k plus roll out national charging infrastructure so most people are only 5 miles from a 50kw charger. Better get cracking then...

To counter the myth that EV batteries don’t last, here’s a bloke with a Tesla Model 3 who’s covered 369,000 miles on the original motors and battery pack. He charged on superchargers 2,500 times. How many combustion engines can do that mileage?

Hard to believe we used to drive cars this tiny. And this charming. A simpler time…

In print and on screen I’ve said ⁦⁦@Tesla⁩ have been great for years. Now I’ve bought one. Looking forward to life without fuel stations, garage repair bills and less than four seconds to 60mph.Thank you ⁦@elonmusk⁩ and ⁦⁦@Tesla⁩ for changing the future.

GP friend told by hospital that fuel pump handles are becoming a significant point of Covid-19 spreading. Wear gloves or use paper towel when filling up and discard immediately. RT please

This is total nonsense from an MP who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Batteries are lasting 300,000 + miles. This is a well documented fact. These are the politicians who helped derail 2030. @SkyNews ask someone who knows next time!
How many of you have seen a 5-8 year old EV which has lost 50% of its battery capacity…? UK Member of Parliament @karlmccartney thinks this happens to "most" EVs

Broadcasting lost a hero today. Steve Wright was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Funny, charming, warm and sensitive - going on his radio show was like talking to an old friend. In the studio, between tracks we’d laugh out loud. He was a lovely man. Sleep peacefully

Could the Tesla Model 3 be the only car in your life? What about range anxiety? How can it be good for 163mph and still have a usable battery range? Find out and watch my road test here. youtu.be/Px8iW75BDxg @tesla @ElonMusk #tesla #electriccars #evs

A special treasure on the car deck of this morning’s ⁦@BrittanyFerries⁩ service from Caen. Great to see Daytonas like this out of their heated motor houses and used in the wild. The old girl caused quite a stir. 😎
