    In the next 24 hours, I will be undergoing a bilateral salpingectomy (surgical removal of my Fallopian tubes) for the sole purpose of permanent sterilisation. I'm 25. I'm unmarried. I've never been pregnant. I never want children. I'm so happy to have fought for this choice.

    I was assaulted by a patient for the first time today and honestly it does feel like a light has gone out. I was told by a friend that anger was an unprofessional response between a Dr and a patient. I forgot that I'm no longer a human being.

    The suture knot he's describing that's used to secure chest drains is internationally known as "The Soweto Knot" or "The Joburg Knot" and is referred to as such in medical journals. No DNA, just RSA or something.

    I was 16 when I actively started seeking permanent contraception and sterilisation. It took almost a decade to be taken seriously as a woman. At 25, I got my tubes removed. I want tubal ligations AND vasectomies to be equally accessible and free from ignorance and stigma.

    I've received some super weird, hateful and downright offensive nonsense in the past 48 hours for my decision to never have children - mostly from men who have a sick sense of entitlement. However, if this even gives *one* woman what she needed for her agency, I've done well 🌷

    I lived, bitches. Minimal pain. Discomfort at all the men who feel entitled to police a body they don't even knoooow😂 Never been happier, and so happy for the overwhelming majority of supportive comments
