Archived account of the 10th President of the State of Israel
- Replying to @PresidentRuviI came from this beloved and dear people, this stiff-necked and wonderful people. I came from the Israeli people and today I return to it. It is true that I came, we came, as two, and I leave here on my own today, but not alone.
- Replying to @PresidentRuviEvery step I took, when I lay down and when I got up, the good of the country and of the Israeli people were always at the forefront of my mind. I pray I did enough.
- Replying to @PresidentRuviI met the Israeli people in all its wonderful diversity. I had the privilege of saluting those among us who excel and to embrace those who get left behind.
- Replying to @PresidentRuviOver those seven years, I did what I could to faithfully perform the task as I saw it. Here in Israel and overseas. At Beit HaNasi in Jerusalem and everywhere across the country.
- Replying to @PresidentRuviOnly if we keep telling this story of ours, a story that has a place for each of the tribes of Israel, Jews and Arabs, secular, religious and ultra-Orthodox, left and right, Israeli citizens and the global Jewish community, can we meet the challenges that we face.
- Replying to @PresidentRuviThe story of how we flourished from the ruins, the story of how we saw opportunities in challenges, the story of pioneering, dreaming and making it come true, of one society of communities and groups who learned to live together, for a common cause – to build our home.
- Replying to @PresidentRuviThose that allow us to tell our story, not only to others, but to ourselves, our children and our children’s children.
- Replying to @PresidentRuviIt is precisely now, when it seems like everything has become political and when stateliness has ‘gone out of fashion’, that there is nothing more urgent than to hold onto those symbols, consensuses and moments that are at the heart of Israeliness.

- Replying to @PresidentRuviI was nine years old when the State of Israel was established. I saw the Israeli flag, blue and white, flying then. For me, the State of Israel will never be something I take for granted. Long live the eleventh President of the State of Israel! Long live the State of Israel!
- Replying to @PresidentRuviThank you to my Nechama, who I miss every single day. Thank you to my sons and daughters, to my grandsons and granddaughters. Now I will return to being your father and grandfather, with tremendous pride.
- Replying to @PresidentRuviMy fellow Israelis, you are the neshama hayetera, the additional soul, of the State of Israel. Thank you for the privilege you gave me to serve as the tenth President of Israel, for the countless moments of enormous excitement, of laughter and tears, of love, of vision and hope.
