We can, and will do so much more if we're given the opportunity. Amazing analysts working for the NHS need access and resources to be innovative and productive. We need to stop talking and start doing...
‘We are already collecting massive, massive volumes of data just for them to be sitting there’ Pouria Hadjibagheri, who helped lead the UK’s Coronavirus dashboard, says part of the solution to NHS pressures could be using data more effectively bbc.in/2Ps915G

I present to you, (most of) the team behind the UK Coronavirus Dashboard. We worked together day, night, and midnight for over two years. We built something amazing, unique, and yeah, something cool! We didn't set to be the best in world, nor did we do it to win awards... 1/3

Some personal news (a 🧵): On 4 October 2021, I resigned from my role as the Deputy Head of Software Engineering for Web and Data at @UKHSA. This means that 1 January 2022 will mark my final day in the agency — but *not* on the dashboard, so this is not goodbye. ...[1/10]

I am truly humbled to have been awarded an MBE in the King's New Year honours. This belongs to our entire team, without whose dedication none of it would have happened. I am completely speechless by @janemerrick23's amazing article. 💐

Today's release was a nightmare. Only managed it thanks to @statsgeekclare. Had to write 4 logs and enter numbers manually — well, the ones we had received via normal routes or a through a notification. 👉 Be careful with today's data. Most metrics only include England figures.

I was delighted to receive my MBE from HRH the Princess Royal, who truly astonished me by her knowledge of my work. The actual honour for me, however, was the opportunity to serve alongside a team of true professionals, each and every one of whom deserve and share this award.

Colleagues are working hard to resolve the issue, but they had to restart a process which takes a few hours for it to run. PS: Some processes take a long time to run. It is a miracle that we get them to run seamlessly on most days (90% of the time). PSS: 💚 to the EpiCell team.

NHS Trusts are now fully integrated in the Dashboard and may be viewed on postcode and the Healthcare pages. This was probably one of the most laborious / extensive upgrades we have done. Hope you find it useful. Big thanks to all involved. coronavirus.data.gov.uk #Covid19UK

That spike! 🤯 The peak shows 440.5k hits per minute generated by close to 100k people concurrently browsing the website + API users. Zero failures... not one server-side error. My job's done here. 😶‍🌫️🙋🏻
