- Regardless of today’s outcome, Florence and the entire Pee Dee region should be proud of these players. They’ve represented our area and state with class, sportsmanship and talent. Final day, one last time.
- Exciting news today as former Post 1 RHP Akeem Bostick has been called up to the majors by the NY Mets and will be in uniform tonight against the Braves at Citi Field. Akeem was on our 2012 World Series team as a P/1B.
- Brooklawn, NJ 10 Florence 4 Florence finishes pool play 2-1, yet loses the tiebreaker “runs allowed” and our season is over. 32-6 overall record State title Southeast Regional title World Series appearance Finished 5th in the country Not a bad summer.
- It’s South Carolina vs Mississippi tomorrow for the Southeast Regional championship. Florence must beat Tupelo twice.
- Field is prepped and ready for tomorrow night’s opener.
00:00 - Tough news as the state of SC, especially the Pee Dee region, lost a legend with the passing of Latta HS head coach Don Cribb. His teams at Latta and Marion won 2 state titles, 7 lower state’s (including 5 straight at one point), and numerous region titles.
- Final: Tupelo, MS 11 Florence 3 End of the run on an incredible season, 34-5 overall record with a state title and regional runner up. This second furthest a Post 1 team has gone in our 90 year history.
- Final: Florence 3 Tallahassee, FL 1 Post 1 advances to the Southeast final four with the win. Robbie Jordan goes CG, allowing 3 hits, striking out 7. DP Pendergrass goes 4-4 with 2 runs. Ashani McFarland and Kody Hanna each go 2-4. Game time and opponent tomorrow is TBD
