So I actually work for Mattel and I can say this is actually an intended feature
You see Don’t Even Trip Dawg has a special feature we call the “Trip Detector.” If Dawg finds out you’re tripping he slowly powers off until you stop tripping!

I ordered the Thomas & Friends multipack and Percy came in with issues. At first, he was running fine, but then slowly started to die and this is where it is now. I replaced the batteries and still can’t even get up the hill.
This is some bad quality control.
