Nationalization is the socialist position. Breaking them up would be a step forward but its the program of middle class progressivism (i.e. E Warren). We can vote for legislation to break them up, but shouldn't elected socialists use their platform to promote public ownership?
Daily reminder that Ticketmaster is a monopoly, it’s merger with LiveNation should never have been approved, and they need to be reigned in. Break them up.

I forgot about this, but I can attest this is a true story, I was there and witnessed it! Seattle Anarchists were very angry at us for fighting for Occupy to take up concrete demands in 2011 and then running in 2012 & 2013 elections

All socialists should support this call to end US sanctions on North Korea. However this statement contains significant political weakness of omission - what it doesnt say. Nowhere does it in any way politically distance DSA from the N Korean regime. This raises two problems🧵/ 1
DSA IC calls on the Biden administration to lift the 2017 Trump-era instilled travel ban on North Korea and end the decades-long devastating economic sanctions in order to move towards formally ending the Korean War. international.dsausa.org/statements/dsa…

We need our own Congressional Socialist Caucus under the direction of DSAs elected leadership, with it's own profile & policies, independent from the Progressive Caucus

Guilty as charged ⚡️ We will work to hold DSA electeds accountable to represent the positions & policies that DSA members democratically adopt. Socialist electeds should serve the socialist movement, not the other way around 🌹
Signs of things to come from potential R&R NPC leadership. Censures for disagreements from *checks notes* 3 years ago.

Unions told us to support Clinton & + Biden rather than Bernie in 2016 & 2020 primaries 😲 Union leaders told their members to approve the railway TA (the one that the members then voted down) 😱 Socialist politics =/= automatically doing what union leaders tell you to do🌹

Good message on abortion, but it's nothing outside the Democratic mainstream. Bush also proactively highlights working with Biden in this ad. There is no significant difference here with AOCs politics, but DSA left has raised zero political concerns. 1/2
TW Sexual Assault: . . . At 17, I was raped & then had an abortion. Now, I'm fighting for our reproductive freedom & to protect our abortion rights. But my opponent—who managed the campaign of an anti-abortion extremist—is trying to help the GOP buy this seat.

#2 failing to politically separate ourselves from N Korean govt assists our opponents in smearing us as supporters of the horrendous N Korean dictatorship & pushing the narrative that socialism = dictatorship. To combat this, when DSA makes statements opposing US imperialism / 3

#1 to succeed in ending these imperialist sanctions we need to win political support from US workers & broader public. Our ability to achieve this is severely limited if the call to end sanctions is seen to be linked with support for the N Korean regime (given its character) / 2

Class struggle unionism > class collaborationist business unionism. To rebuild labor we need to return to the successful strategies socialists deployed to build the CIO in the 1930s, IWW etc. Socialism gets the goods!
