    Mr Meade, as he was known to most, prided himself on never forgetting a face, and in turn he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by the generations of Petreans, Fellows and staff who knew him.

    On Friday afternoon, the Fellows and staff of the College paid their respects to the Former Master, the late Professor Sir John Meurig Thomas. By custom Fellows followed his coffin as it was carried round Old Court, before the private funeral took place in Little St Mary's.
