Hi #phage cognoscenti. We have two phages, where one plaque seems to inhibit the spread of the other phage. Has anyone seen anything like this or know what might cause it? The phages are totally unrelated - Myoviridae (small plaque), Podoviridae (large plaque).

Ever wondered what a #jumbo #phage is? #PhD students @k8_harding and Natalie Kyte give a quick guide @CurrentBiology #WomenInSTEM Some of these phage use a #nucleus to evade #CRISPR and other defences. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

A great way to start 2021. We developed a genome-wide method to find #regulators in #bacteria and applied it to understand how bacteria control #CRISPR-Cas immunity against #phages vs #plasmids. Led by the stellar @L_M_Smith! Check out her thread below! Thanks @MarsdenFund.
Excited to finally share my PhD work @otago on CRISPR-Cas regulation, out in @NatureMicrobiol today! 🎉 See thread below for a summary of the findings from our new genome-wide screen!🦠 @SimonJacksonNZ @Lucia_M_Malone @ppgardne James Ussher @PeterFineran nature.com/articles/s4156…
