    Blood donation #44 in the bag today. It’s not enough, though: my blood is O-. There’s just about enough 0- in stock to last three days. Think about that. How would you feel if someone’s surgery had to be postponed due to a lack of blood? If you can, please #GiveBlood. 🙏

    This is 5-year old Leonid Shapoval. Last Thursday, his treatment for leukaemia was halted in #Ukraine because of the Russian invasion. This afternoon he was being medically assessed in #Schull, West #Cork, with a view to resuming his treatment at an Irish hospital ASAP. @rtenews

    Absolutely heroic response by members of #Kerry Mountain Rescue Team, who spent almost 10 hours on the McGillycuddy Reeks in awful weather conditions, rescuing six climbers who had become cragfast 150 metres from the top of a gully. All were walked to safety by 1.30am. @rtenews

    24 hours after Quill’s Woollen Market in #Kenmare was flooded under half a metre of water, guess what — it’s back in business! Finbarr Quill, his family and their 15 staff finished the clean-up at 5.15 this morning. If you’re in the area, show your support. 🙏 #InThisTogether

    23-year old Private Shane Kearney from #Killeagh in East #Cork, a member of the @defenceforces critically injured in Lebanon. Shane’s family say their prayers are with the family of Private Seán Rooney, who died in the same incident. They have also asked people to pray for Shane.

    I gave a blood donation this week. I’m a regular donor, but when @Giveblood_ie rang me to say stocks of my blood type were running low, my mind was made up. Irrespective of #COVID19, blood donations are still needed for cancer patients, road crash victims, babies. #GiveBlood

    This is Cameron Blair, the victim of last night‘s stabbing in #Cork. Cameron was a second-year student at Cork Institute of Technology. He was from Ballinascarthy in West Cork and played rugby with #Bandon. He’s survived by his parents and younger brother. @rtenews

    A moment mother of two Mary Sullivan and her family from #Douglas #Cork though they would never see: Mary’s discharge from the @BonSecours Hospital ICU after spending a record 79 days on life support being treated for Covid-19. Even off-duty staff came to applaud her. @rtenews
