On this day, Ghassan Kanafani was born.
Kanafani was a frontrunner of Palestinian resistance literature, which helped shape a rich genre of Palestinian prose and poetry and preserve Palestinian identity and culture at a very critical time. 🧵
Given the escalating racist attacks on the Palestine Writes Literature Festival, we feel it's time to release this letter, which we sent to the University on September 2, 2023, in response to the first hateful letter that came to our attention.

With no prior warning, YouTube deactivated our account which featured videos from the 1st Palestine Writes Literature Festival. We were able to appeal and get the account back, but we condemn this act of censorship against Palestinian voices.
