Today is the official launch of PLATracker, a site dedicated to providing data-driven analysis of Chinese military activity and regional security developments in Asia.
According to the Japanese Ministry of Defense, the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) has deployed two carrier groups to the Western Pacific for the first time. Both CGs breached Japan's exclusive economic zone.

Following the announcement of Chinese live-fire drills near Taiwan’s southwest coastline, here is a visual that highlights six notable PLA operations observed through February 2025.
🧵Taiwan's Coast Guard reported that 11 Chinese vessels entered the restricted waters near Kinmen in two groups on 09 May 2024. 7 of the vessels conducted "maritime exercises" in the restricted zone.

New satellite imagery via @SkyfiApp shows new aircraft at Yanliang AB, the production and test site of Xi’an Aircraft Company, in China.
Visible are twenty-one Y-20 transport aircraft, eight H-6 bombers, and several fighter jets and turboprop transport aircraft.
