Important AAU weekend ahead for a lot of hoopers.
Some things to keep in mind on the road:
• Play aggressive. Don’t play passive. You get rewarded for acting. Not standing still.
• Demonstrate that you can play off the ball. 95% of the game is played without the ball. Most
This year I’ve already had the privilege of attending 10 AAU events across the country & 2 high school shootouts so far.
Here are some of my biggest takeaways.
Players:
• Stop putting the ball over your head when you catch it around the perimeter. I see prospects doing this
After watching the first 3 weeks of AAU, I think one thing is blatantly obvious.
The kids deserve better.
You can point at the lack of actual coaching, the lack of actual development, the cost for what you’re getting in return, and everything else in between but at the end of
Over the past 5 weeks, I've had the opportunity to attend AAU events on both the men's/women's side all across the US & here are some of the more interesting things that have stood out to me..
- Fit within a system is everything, no matter where you are playing. Could be AAU,
The #1 & #2 ranked prospects out of the 2025 Class from Nebraska are off the board!
Neleigh & Norah Gessert have both committed to @CreightonWBB to continue their collegiate careers together.
A big commitment for the Bluejays as they each had several Power-5 offers.
Congrats
Dear Young 🏀 Players,
I mainly tweet about basketball but there is so much more to life than that.
I just hope basketball is something you can learn life lessons from. I hope it’s something that you can lean on when times are tough in your life or when things aren’t going
Not sure who needs to hear this but we have a big AAU weekend coming up so..
Players:
• Where is your defense? Have some pride. I’m not sure where you think you’re going to play in college when you can’t guard your own position at the very least. Most of you don’t care about
& the #1 recruit from the 2025 Class in Iowa is off the board to @LSUwbkb!
Bourrage is currently ranked #5 out of her 2025 Class by @espnW & she is one of the highest recruits the state of Iowa has ever seen.
Over her HS career she is averaging - 14.6 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 4.4 APG, &
Some 2025 AAU Szn Takeaways:
AAU Programs -
• AAU season is a time where players should get better from their first week in March to their last week in July. If you are wondering if you are apart of a good program, ask yourself if you have grown as a player over the past few
AAU Players - Somethings to note going into this season:
➡️ Attitude > Everything else - Make sure through everything that you have a positive attitude. Anyone watching from afar notices almost right away if this is an issue. It’ll get you crossed off a potential recruiting
I find it hard to believe that high school programs have the players best interest in mind when they don’t post their team’s stats or have some sort of livestream..
How are college recruiters from out of your area/state, suppose to see you?
Make it make sense.
If you’re a hooper that isn’t receiving offers right now, keep your head up & keep making plays.
You can’t compare your journey to anyone else’s.
Stay resilient! 👊🏽
