    Today we’re joining the rest of the UK in mourning the sudden, unexpected loss of Paul O’Grady. He was a huge animal lover and did great things for the animal welfare sector. Our heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends and charities that have lost a great Ambassador. ❤️

    Today we remember the bravery shown by PD Diesel, who was killed in a shootout with suspected terrorists in the 2015 #ParisAttacks. We posthumously awarded him the #PDSADickinMedal - the highest animal honour.

    Great move from Sainsbury's banning the sale of fireworks in their stores due to concerns over the welfare of pets. Fireworks season can be a distressing time for our furry friends, so it’s a great step in the right direction! 🐾

    Today, Police Dog Bacca is awarded the animal equivalent of the George Cross - the #PDSAGoldMedal - for his life-saving actions when he protected his handler, PC Mike Davey. Bacca was attacked with a 10-inch knife, sustaining multiple injuries. Congratulate Bacca with a ❤️

    This hero dog deserves your 💙. Following the #September11th attack, Apollo worked tirelessly for 18 hrs a day locating survivors buried under rubble. The brave dog was chosen to receive the #PDSADickinMedal on behalf of all the Search & Rescue dogs at Ground Zero. #911Memorial
