Our team found Tom, sick and alone, and eating rat poison. He’d been living as a stray all 5 years of his life so far, and well...it shows.
His survival skills must have been to make friends with every creature he met, because this cat doesn’t have a mean bone in his body! 1/4

- Our Community Outreach Team met 9-year-old Topher living as a stray, and that was just the tip of the iceberg. Besides the expected ailments of a longtime stray cat, like much-needed dental care and being FIV+, Topher had BB pellets from a BB gun embedded in his skin. (1/2)

- Yogurt was kicked out of his outdoor cat colony when his caretaker found out he was FIV+. As an outcast, Yogurt was then repeatedly attacked by other animals. Neighbors tried to help by giving him human medication for his injuries, not knowing it was toxic to cats (1/3)
- Replying to @PAWSChicago(2/2) Super affectionate Topher holds no grudges against us humans! He reminds us of our sweet Tom from earlier this year, who found his loving home with a little help from @mrfishtopher - let's find the same for Topher now! He deserves the best after all he's been through ❤️
- Replying to @PAWSChicago3/4 Now, we’re thrilled to say he’s ready for a home! Tom is FIV+ and FeLV+ which means he’s looking for a cat-free home, or fellow FIV/FeLV+ cat home, and our Adoption Team will be happy to tell you all about what that looks like.
- Replying to @PAWSChicago2/4 He was, however, in desperate need of medical attention. And the odds were seriously stacked against him. But Tom’s faith in our medical staff never faltered, because he took any opportunity to ham it up for a little extra love and attention!
- Replying to @PAWSChicago(3/3) Now that he’s fully recovered, he’s looking for a family to continue giving him the good life he so deserves! Help us save more pets like Yogurt this Giving Day, June 20th! Have your donation matched right now at donate.pawschicago.org/campaign/givin…

- Replying to @PAWSChicago4/4 Right now, you can help save twice the lives with a donation thanks to our $25,000 Year-End Gift Match from Bill Little. A gift today will help us save so many more lives like Tom’s in the next year ❤️ pawschicago.org/.../donate/hol…
- In typical orange cat fashion, Alfie decided he was done being a stray and brought himself to PAWS. Every year, our Community Outreach team makes outdoor cat shelters to help strays around Chicago survive the cold winter, and we have one in our Medical Center parking lot. (1/3)
- Replying to @IvePetThatDogWe’re SO happy to share that Milton was adopted!!! 🐶❤️🎉
