February $VIX futures are priced like it is 3:30 in the afternoon the day before expiration....these futures have over a week to expire....either cash is going to tank, or something big is expected here in the next day or two.

I am not so convinced we tank on a Dem sweep, I am also not convinced we pop on a Republican split or hold. I am not so sure it matters either way frankly.
