Thank you to the dedicated @OntariosDoctors who joined us today at Queen's Park to advocate for our 3 solutions to increase patient's access to care. #Onhealth#OMAatQP
The Ontario Medical Association strongly condemns those making deaths threats against public health officials who are trying to keep our communities safe.
Bullying and intimidation have no place in Canadian society, especially not against doctors and other health-care workers who have been working on the front lines of the pandemic for nearly two years to keep our communities safe. This has to stop. We are better than this.
The OMA is concerned for patient safety with today’s announcement by @ONgov on its plans to expand the scope of practice for pharmacists. We are concerned this direction will fragment an already fractured health-care system. #onpoli 🧵
Pharmacist ≠ Physician. Full stop.
@ONgov needs to address the root causes instead of applying band-aid solutions that benefit large corporations over patients.
Listen as Dr. @DominikNowakMD explains why everyone in Ontario should be demanding a family doctor. #onhealth.
Extending our thoughts to @Harryslaststand and his family. Harry is a compassionate and respected advocate for health care. We know you are in good hands with the doctors and nurses at Belleville General Hospital.
Harry's is to be moved shortly to ICU. I can not express enough thanks to everyone at Belleville General Hospital because all of them do excellent work under the most trying of circumstances. #IStandWithHarry
Ontario Medical association strongly condemns any act of violence, harassment or threats made towards physicians. Doctors work every day to keep their patients and communities safe and healthy and acts that threaten the safety of physicians will not be tolerated.
Minister @rechievaldez, you're mistaken. This is not something Canada can recruit our way out of.
@OntariosDoctors are facing financial strain, worsened by proposed tax changes. This could threaten physician practices and patient access.
Incredible. Minister admits capital gains increases could cause family doctors to leave Canada. Not to worry, though, she says, we’ll just bring in more foreign trained docs.
