Iranian atheist. My main goal in life is to see the US embassy in Iran open again. Liberal. Non-binary. Loves literature, cinema, and video games. (they/them)
I wrote an article about the prospects of Iran under Mojataba Khamenei's leadership. I entertain five senarios. Please read and tell me what you think! Link in the comments.

Iranian regime: we don't want war
Iranian conservatives: we don't want war
Iranian reformists: we don't want war
Iranian liberals: we don't want
Iranians at home: we don't want war
Iranian diaspora: we don't want war
Weird Western LARPere:
Despite medical transition being available, Iran is still not OK with trans people, we still face a lot of discrimination and loss of autonomy.
You're free to take the word of a mystic cosplayer outside Iran over an actual trans person in Iran though
That's an entirely different point. Your point was to own a trans person for supporting Iran, Iran has been ok with trans people since the 1980s. You didn't know that.
Most westerners overestimate how bad life in an authoritarian country is, a smaller number overcorrect and underestimate. It's really hard to have a nuanced understanding from outside, understandably.
