Yep, I was fired today. We worked hard at it for 7 years but it wasn’t enough.
Tough day in the Drake household, but better days ahead. We have been through tougher stuff!
It’s been a tough week for our family, but attending the @TeamJack gala last weekend w/ our 8 year old brain tumor/cancer survivor brings me so much strength. A lot of teachable moments for our kids during this time but none more important than thankfulness for adversity!
Coaches vs. Cancer week took on a whole new meaning in May 2020 when my daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor/cancer. Looking forward to honoring those battling this terrible disease with all that we GET to do tonight! #coachesvscancer
When we as coaches lose our jobs it affects our families in so many ways. Well in my son’s case it hurt his wardrobe as well. Please take a look at his video and help him out if you can. ❤️
Tomorrow is Stella’s yearly scan & follow up appt. I am always so impressed with how brave and thoughtful she is about all of her experiences. Scan days are full of tough memories and anxiety. Feel free to send this strong girl some great energy, prayers, & thoughts ❤️
The Drakes are off and running in the great state of Wisconsin. Stella started 3rd grade, Seb started 7th, Kristen started her new role as the development manager at the Ronald McDonald House in Madison, & I started back teaching. Excited for the year ahead!
May 20th - 5 years ago today, Stella went through 8+ hour brain tumor surgery. We have so much to be thankful for and have learned so much through it all. May is Brain Cancer Awareness Month and I can’t help but think/pray for all the families impacted by this horrible disease.
I'm honored to announce that I have been selected to serve as the Head Coach of the WBCA D1 All-Star Game.
We’re raising money for the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer), please consider a donation in my name, for the MACC Fund.

Thanks to @wiaawi basketball official Larry Buchberger for mentoring my 14 year old son. Cool to see a veteran official helping mold younger kids interested in officiating. Thank you Larry!
