- I’ve officially closed the Sample Return Capsule! The sample of Bennu is sealed inside and ready for our voyage back to Earth. The SRC will touch down in the Utah desert on Sep. 24, 2023. Thanks, everyone, for being a part of my journey #ToBennuAndBack
00:00 - The back-away burn is complete 🛑✅ I'm now moving to a safe distance away from Bennu.
00:00 - Well, I definitely touched down on Bennu! Preliminary data show the sampling head touched Bennu’s surface for approximately 6 seconds, within 3 feet (1 meter) of the targeted location. #ToBennuAndBack More details: bit.ly/37ux3GI
00:00 - Wanted to share my closest view yet of asteroid Bennu from yesterday’s rehearsal! This series of images was captured during the 10-minute span between the Checkpoint burn, ~394 ft (120 m) above the surface, and the back-away burn, which occurred ~213 ft (65 m) above the surface.
GIF - Preliminary data show that today's sample collection event went as planned 👍 More details to come once all the data from the event are downlinked to Earth. Thanks, everybody, for following along as we journey #ToBennuAndBack! Next stop: Earth 2023! 🌍
- Now that the sample is sealed up in the Sample Return Capsule, I can finally share this video from TAG! This is the view from one of my navigation cameras… pretty intense, huh? #ToBennuAndBack More details: bit.ly/2TFBEhe
00:00 - It's official! I'm in orbit around #asteroid Bennu -- now the smallest body ever orbited by a spacecraft. My snug path around the asteroid also sets a new record for the closest orbit of a planetary body by any spacecraft. #HappyNewYear, indeed! More ➡️ bit.ly/BennuOrbit

00:00 - From yesterday’s rehearsal — my best view of Bennu yet! This series of images was taken over a 13-min span — it begins ~420 ft (128 m) above Bennu and runs through the Matchpoint burn, with the last image taken ~144 ft (44 m) above the surface.
GIF - #WelcomeToBennu! After two years of travel – and more than a decade of planning and work by my team – I’m here. But Arrival is just the beginning… bit.ly/BennuRotate Credit: NASA/Goddard/University of Arizona
00:00 - Congratulations on your successful touchdown, @haya2_jaxa! We're excitedly waiting for the telemetry and confirmation of sample collection.
- Preliminary telemetry shows this is where I touched down on site Nightingale – within 3 feet (1 meter) of the targeted location 🎯 Not too bad for being 200 million miles away 😎
