Thanks to all our mutual aid partners that showed up in our time of need. More than 900 “boots on the ground” made up of OPPD & mutual aid folks, left their families to help us restore power to 188,000 customers in our community. Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe it. 🧡👏

We have received reports of customers approaching our workers in the field. It's natural to want updates, but please keep your distance. Our crews are handling dangerous tasks & need 100% focus to restore power safely and efficiently. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Today, we were privileged to join the community in honoring Cpl. Daegan Page. We learned that Cpl. Page planned to pursue a career as a lineworker after he separated from the service. Our deepest condolences go out to the family & to the 13 troops who lost their lives. RIP

We are not letting up on restoration efforts. There are currently 178 crews consisting of 539 personnel working to restore power. Today, crews are encountering areas w/ dense vegetation tangled in our power lines. We must remove vegetation before restoration work can continue.

I cannot emphasize enough how DANGEROUS this is. YOU SHOULD NEVER TOUCH OR MOVE A DOWNED POWER LINE. (that includes using it as jump rope) ALWAYS ASSUME IT IS ENERGIZED.
RP advises the Juvs are using a downed power line as a jump rope.

All of our crews, in addition to mutual aid crews, are working to restore power after one of the most severe storms we've seen in recent history. Restoring your power as quickly and safely as possible is our top priority and we'll work around the clock until that's been done.

OPPD crews expect to arrive in Baton Rouge, Louisiana this evening. The team of 15 could be deployed for a week — if not longer — to assist @EntergyLA with restoration efforts. Here's a clip that was captured of the convoy passing through Arkansas earlier today.

Thanks to our customers for the outpouring of support during last week's multi-day outage. On many occasions, crews & other OPPD employees mentioned how good it felt to be appreciated by the community. Here's a few examples of the goodwill we saw.

You may see workers in their trucks or standing by–it may not look like they are actively working, but please know they ARE. Some tasks involve awaiting electrification or testing power quality that are not as visible as a worker in a bucket truck. This is part of the process.
