Showed a new generation to Ren and Stimpy... and fucked up, BIG TIME! Also creator of the "HIT" Series, Durv: The Series
- Now that Ren and Stimpy is being rebooted, let me remind y'all that there is still not a legal home video/streaming release of the show that doesn't have at least a dozen or so cuts. Buckle up, fellas, this is gonna be a long thread... (1/8)
- Guess it's that time of year where people post those smoothly animated simpsons clips again
00:00 - Happy birthday to a show that transformed Television Animation, a show that was seen around the world, loved by millions, and put the Hub Network on the map... Of course, i'm talking about the well beloved 'Twisted Whiskers Show'
- Replying to @OLDTPBUSERThe Paramount DVD's that were released in the mid 2000s have an ever loving variety of cuts that range from entire scenes getting chopped off to little bits of frames getting trimmed, not to mention commercial break fades that were added by Spike TV and DVNR up the nose (2/8)
- Replying to @OLDTPBUSEROverall: There isn't a single legal method to watch R&S fully uncut, the only way to watch it uncut is through "alternative" means. with a reboot on the horizon, i hope to god that an officially licensed uncut DVD or Blu-Ray comes out eventually. (8/8)
- Replying to @OLDTPBUSER"But what about streaming?" It's more uncut then the DVD's... but don't get your hopes up, if you live in the US, only a select batch of episodes are on streaming. and also have minor edits (an entire sequence in Son of Stimpy is completely re-timed) (6/8)
- Replying to @OLDTPBUSER'Stimpy's Fan Club' got the worst of it on the S1&2 DVD. the whole episode suffers from PAL Speedup, Time Compression (yes, they included both), and Color Bleeding Several of the Games cartoons on the later DVD's also suffer from time compression, and those also have cuts. (3/8)
- Replying to @OLDTPBUSERTwo episodes on the S4&5 set (Pixie King/Aloha Hoek and Cheese Rush Days/Wiener Barons) are taken from damaged masters with audio warping and field shifting. overall, the DVD's are a fuckin' mess. (5/8)
- Replying to @OLDTPBUSERSome episodes are over extended with bumpers that never appeared in the original run, and most, if not all episodes in the Games set are sourced from an ever loving variety of masters. with a few being sourced from MTV's cut down masters with good ol' time compression. (4/8)
- Replying to @OLDTPBUSER"What about the German DVD's? aren't they uncut?" Well, yes... and also no at the same time. a bunch of scenes are restored, but the audio track's for those scenes are stuck in German only, the English track won't help you either, (7/8)
- Replying to @ArtofSpongebobStill glad to know that those cruddy captures i did back in 2016 are still circulating! even if i'm a little ashamed that i encoded em poorly in XviD
