Today is Kobani Liberation Day. On January 26, 2015 Kurdish fighters, supported by @CJTFOIR air strikes, liberated Kobani & showed that Daesh wasn’t invincible & denied them a strategic objective. Congratulations to the Kurds for being an example of a reliable, & capable partner

Initial reports that Indirect Fire landed on Coalition Forces in Erbil tonight. There was 1 civilian contractor killed, 5 civilian contractors injured and 1 US service member injured. More information to follow.

Six years ago, Daesh controlled 60% of Kobani, but the SDF and its components would not surrender and held the city. We honor their martyrs by continuing in our mission to defeat Daesh. The SDF and its components have established a proud legacy in the mission to #DefeatDaesh
