We’re disheartened by the update we’re bringing tonight - another one of our crews was struck on the north side of Columbus. Tiffney, our driver, is fine but wanted everyone to know that her 4 year old daughter waits for her to come home each morning. Please Slow Down. Move Over.

Today, ODOT crews in Madison Co. found an injured great horned owl on the side of the road while picking up litter along I-70. ODOT was able to work with @ohiodnr to rescue it so it can safely recover at a rehabilitation center in Yellow Springs. #EarthDay2022 🌏🦉👷🏼‍♂️

6:15 PM UPDATE: Here’s a look at current conditions around I-270. With snow falling at an inch per hour, it’s impossible for crews to keep up. While it’s still snowing, roads will be treacherous. Long night ahead for plow drivers. #ODOTwinter

36 hours in - even as the heaviest snow starts to taper off, there's still lots of work to do. Crews hope to make lasting progress today as pavement is uncovered. As temps drop, focus will shift to refreeze. With no end in sight, a huge thank you to our plow drivers! #ODOTwinter

Don't be that driver. For some reason, this tractor-trailer was driving on the Olentangy Bike Path when it hit a bridge at 670 and 315. ODOT bridge inspectors are on scene.

“Today’s my daughters birthday and I thought I was going to die” was the first thing Dennis said when he was hit while working along I-270 this morning. We wish Dennis, who’s been at ODOT for 10+ years, a speedy recovery and implore you to slow down, move over and pay attention.

Our pothole crew on US 35 was lucky to make it home yesterday after a semi crashed into the work zone, sending our ‘crash truck’ flying. Fortunately, it did its job by absorbing impact & protecting workers on the ground. Don’t let this happen again - move over for our crews.

MADISON COUNTY: Red, White, and Brew situation on I-70 EB between SR-29 and SR-142. The road is CLOSED. Fortunately, we’re told there were no serious injuries. Watch for clean up crews...and please, no stopping to “help”😉

As ODOT inspectors were coming in for the night shift yesterday, they captured this incredible rainbow over our ODOT Grove City garage.

How do you swing a 110,000 pound sign into place? A really big crane and lots of manpower. This is the second of nine overhead signs for I-670 east... talk about massive! #SmartLane

11:30 PM: ODOT crews finally making lasting progress on Central Ohio interstates, state, and U.S. routes. Drivers should still be prepared for slick spots due to cold temps and wind. #ODOTwinter

The scary moment of impact when our truck was hit from behind on US 35 earlier this week. Thankfully, ODOT Highway Technician Levi & his co-workers made it home that day. We can’t say it enough: Watch out for our crews. Move over. Slow down. It’s the law & the right thing to do.
