- 5 of our current players turned down offers from MLB teams to come back to school. All of them said it’s for one reason, Omaha. Something special happening on Montezuma Mesa.
- We welcomed our second son on 12/15/21, Rowan Williams Oliveira. Per usual, my wife was incredible. Thankful Rowan & mama are both healthy. Best feeling in the world. BP & double play turns start tomorrow with his bro.
- “Winter” in San Diego. 80 degrees and clear skies for the first day of spring practice. Let’s go!
00:00 - Next chapter. Excited to help kids and their families through the recruiting process. All uncommitted players, let’s talk! College coaches, let me know how I can help.
- As freshman begin to move on campus to start class/fall workouts, here’s my advice: Talk less, listen more & be humble. Nobody cares about your HS stats or ranking. Nobody cares that you should have been drafted. All they care about is that you are there to work hard & win.
- 🚨 Recruiting Tip 🚨 The connection & relationship with the coaching staff should be near the top of the priority list when choosing a program. If the people developing you as a player & person aren’t the right people for you, that sweet facility, logo & uniform won’t matter
- Baseball world lost a great coach & a better man today. I remember Coach Altobelli telling me last year that his daughter & Kobe’s daughter played together. He was so proud of his kids. He also always went out of his way to help his players. RIP Alto
- I hope young athletes listen when Tom Brady speaks. Builds up everybody around him, deflects attention, and credits his teammates & coaches. He’s the ultimate leader
- The San Diego baseball community lost a great one. My heart breaks for the Herrera family. Desi had an infectious, positive energy and poured his heart into making his players better. He was a great Aztec, great coach and even better human. RIP my friend, you will be missed
- Put me in @CoachMartinez7! Big thanks to our equipment manager Angie! She had this custom jersey made for Hudson. Love our Aztec family. He’s excited to wear it around Tony Gwynn Stadium @AztecBaseball @GoAztecs @SDSU_EQ
