My favourite Digger moment yet! And the last you’ll see of my burrowing owl for a while I’m on my way to a shoot in Costa Rica and Guatemala. King vultures and volcanoes, tapirs and trogons, horned guans and pink headed warblers. Exciting stuff, but I’ll miss Digger.

There’s been peace in El Salvador for many years, it’s certainly not a dangerous country to visit. Salvadoreans are the friendliest people you could hope to meet. There’s so much biodiversity too. Take a trip there if you can ⁦@MorenaValdezSV⁩ ⁦@ElSalvadorBirds

I’ve been a bit quiet over the last few months because I was being treated for tonsil cancer. The chemo and radiotherapy were hard core, but I’m cured now and looking forward to 2021. Watch this space and nigelmarven.com to join me on wildlife adventures. Happy New Year!

I can only imagine how a revival of Prehistoric Park with the visuals of Prehistoric Planet would look. Imo it would look amazing. Sadly I don’t think it will happen. I bet @Nigelmarven would love to add more creatures to the park lol

In El Salvador I enjoyed pupusas, a flatbread made from cornmeal with cheese and beans for non meat eaters like me. ⁦@MorenaValdezSV

This is ASTONISHING! One of my friends in Costa Rica sent me this clip. A sloth birth at the top of a Cecropia tree, the new born doesn’t fall because of the umbilical cord! Congratulations to whoever caught this moment!

So proud to have a Cretaceous wasp Diameneura marveni named after me, now a thylacine has been too! What a great honour! You can read about the new thylacine discoveries in the Journal of Vertebrate Zoology and in an article in the Independent newspaper
