Oxford Union latest (47 hours after close of poll). There has been no counting in the vote of no confidence in George Abaraonye. Scrutiny of proxy votes is currently suspended. Following a meeting of the Standing Committee, attended by Abaraonye, he and his supporters succeeded

I agree. Whereas the liberal position used to be that all views are lawful except those expressly forbidden, now we’re in a place where certain views have to be licensed by the courts. Something seems wrong here.

I find the fact that we have to wait for courts to pronounce which (utterly mainstream) opinion we are 'allowed' to hold to be absolutely batshit. A presumption that any opinion might be deemed unacceptable until some judge has decided otherwise is mental.

Ignorant @JakeWSimons. The reason India’s share of world GDP declined was that industrialising Europe’s increased dramatically. The same happened to uncolonised China. Under the British India’s population almost tripled; its agricultural land increased eightfold.
