Tembeka Ngcukaitobi addressing perhaps the most challenging element of a genocide charge- evidencing the specific intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a specific people. By taking the Court through repeated statements of high-level Israeli officials that — far from evidencing

#Steenhuisen, like too many in the DA, is so much the high school debater. The sneering put down-“no planning for vaccine rollout because they were too busy banning cooked chickens”- played only for schoolboy guffaws but of no real consequence in a time of national tragedy.

Whatever criticism is to be made of the @EFFSouthAfrica, and there should be lots of it right now, their proud embrace of and quest for educational achievement is to be applauded @helenzille . And your sneering, belittling comments make you seem small.
Very sad that all this "education" took them to such a regressive space: Racial nationalism, and economic policies that destroyed countries from Venezuela to Zimbabwe. They all probably received the "Grievance Studies" degrees, in which many universities today sadly specialise.

Many will want to applaud the possible appointment of our first female CJ, but the recommendation of Maya J as a result of a tainted, irrational, degraded process is no victory at all and far from suggesting that women might take the helm of the judiciary on the basis of merit and

Thuggery as enforcement of the rule of law. Physical intimidation as constitutional defense. Assault of journalists as media freedom. Robbing the poor as defending the poor. Living in cigarette smuggler’s compound as fighting WMC. Lies as fact.
This is not disruption. It’s called enforcement of the rule of law. We can’t and will never permit constitutional delinquents to undermine Parliament. Well done Commissars and Fighters! It’s No retreat! No surrender!!

So much threatening response coming @HelenSuzmanFdn and my way in response to announcement of challenge to decision terminating Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP). Makes it clear how frightening it must be to be a migrant in SA right now. And I don’t mean if you were born in Canada.

For those who might have missed this little pearl in the JSC’s proceedings yesterday-when Malema publicly rounds on a female journalist, and through the chair, instructs her to take her medication! A small incident in a long day but so revealing of the utter farce playing out:

Credit where it is due. The SA presidency, and our diplomats, have carefully and skilfully managed a dilemma that would tax any government in the world. They’ve done so without any real precedent, forging their own path. This merits real recognition. Well done to them.
South Africa’s Presidency confirms (by mutual agreement) that Russian President Vladimir Putin will NOT attend the BRICS summit in SA in August. Russian delegation to be led by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Full statement here: #sabcnews

I don’t know if Paul O’ Sullivan is lying. But he is certainly and demonstrably wrong. While I was at the Foundation (2022-2023) there was no evidence he had ever provided any funding. Also, it was Robert McBride himself who secured the setting aside of his suspension. Not HSF.
Paul O’Sullivan: I then went to the Helen Suzman Foundation … I funded The foundation with a substantial amount of money to bring the application to have Robert McBride’s suspension overturned and he was reinstated back at IPID

Babita Deokaran’s killing is the most unsettling tragedy for all of us South Africans — a public she served with enormous integrity and courage. NICOLE FRITZ: Honoured only in death, Babita Deokaran deserved far more

address the world’s highest court on the effects of systematic dehumanisation, of looking to characterise those who are oppressed as “animals”.

While this hearing is about seeking to persuade the court as to the cogency of SA’s arguments, you can’t dismiss the importance of law as theatre. Tembeka is one of SA’s foremost advocates for his evident skill but there can be no denying the power of having a Black South African

scrupulous concern for the safety of innocent civilians in Gaza — instead demonstrate a targeting of the population of Gaza as a whole and an intent to extract retribution against the people without distinction or differentiation between Hamas combatants and civilians.

The US administration again fabricating geopolitical developments to keep attention off Trump’s intimacy with Jeffrey Epstein. Strange, even in these strange days, that the UK monarchy is proving better at accountability than the elected US govt.
Afrikaners have been continuously subjected to violent racial discrimination by the South African government. I applaud @POTUS's decision to not waste taxpayer dollars sending our diplomats to the G20 while this heinous violence continues. foxnews.com/politics/state…
