The @Lakers were Sid Hartman’s idea. The 26-year-old convinced his wealthy buddy Ben Berger to buy the woeful Detroit Gems (4-40) for $15,000 and move them to Mpls. Hartman then signed George Mikan, Jim Pollard, Vern Mikkelsen & Coach John Kundla. The great franchise was born.

It’s no secret that Pat McKenzie of St. John’s (Collegeville)is a good coach, but his first five full seasons at SJU have been incredible.

Jon Dold batted 596 for St. John’s @SJU_Baseball in 1993. That’s the highest batting average ever in the MIAC. After that season, Dold was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds and played in their farm system. He also played basketball for the Johnnies. #throwbackthursday

What happens when we ask 4th grade girls to shoot FTs with a regulation ball from 15 feet on a 10 foot hoop. A two-handed shot with body lunging forward in an attempt to gather as much power as possible.
