    What kind of country do we live in? I spotted this in Exeter today while visiting family. This is the city where I grew up and I always thought it was pretty friendly and tolerant. But one of its local businesses (a tapas bar) has now closed citing ongoing racist abuse!

    I find the briefing of lockdowns via newspapers is excruciating - people need clarity, businesses and lives depend on these decisions ...it's not something to "test the water" with conflicting information to judge public opinion before an announcement is made several days later.

    The final goodbyes are always the hardest. I said a fond farewell to my grand old lady Ruby this weekend. Heartbreaking, but I was so lucky to have her in my life for 18 years. Loved and adored by everyone, and the best dog a family could ask for 💓.
